CREATING COMPELLING CONCEPT ART THROUGH THE DESIGN OF COLOR AND LIGHT
In this workshop, veteran concept artist and illustrator Sam Nielson will present methods of painting light, using principles of value and color. He’ll demonstrate how to use these methods of lighting to clearly express ideas and to tell stories that will resonate with any audience.
Sam's workshop will include:
The anatomy of light and surface
Essentials of a good lighting scheme
Sculpting forms with light
Combining surface effects
Demonstration, showing how to apply lighting methods in Photoshop

Every artist knows a good portfolio is essential to get their dream job. We want to showcase our best work in the best way.
A portfolio review allows us to know where we stand and what to improve on, and we want to get that from the most experienced and appreciated artists.
During recess and lunch-break Kei Acedera will be available for 1on1 Portfolio Reviews.

Where is the Venue?

The Univercity Train station is 10 minutes away from the venue.
What equipment should I bring to the workshop?
We recommend bringing a notepad for note-taking during the lectures.
During the second day Bobby Chiu will give an assignment for participants so make sure to bring a sketchbook, pencils or tablet!
If you're intereested in getting a 1on1 portfolio review with Kei Acedera bring your portfolio with you!
The venue does not have tables to put a laptop, wacoms, cintiques or other large equipment on. The assignments given can be done even in a simple sketchbook!
Is lunch provided?
Every day will include a 90 minutes lunch break to allow participents to have their lunch at leasure and have protfolio reviews.
The Venue has a small cafe on it's premises, cafeteria and is located not far from Tel-Aviv univercity and Ramat Aviv shopping center.
You may also bring your own lunch to have on the many beatiful spots on the premises of the museum.

The artists will have prints of their works for sell at the workshop, and there is a rumour Bobby might bring a few originals!
